The Barryroe girls got stuck in from the word go tonight,  the defeat of Monday night fresh in their memory and also the memory of Clon winning by a point the last time we met in June.  Every ball was tackled and huge pressure put on the Clon backs by Eimear & Ava up front.  Jessica too was unlucky not to score in the first few minutes with the ball just going wide.  While we had alot the possession it took awhile before we registered the first score with a great goal from Ashling this was followed quickly by a point from Clon.  Roisin returned to centre foward tonight after recovering from a nasty ankle injury which kept her out of Monday's game.  She won some nice ball and nice passes between Jessica, Holly, Claire D & herself kept us in the lead at half time 1-1 to 0-1.  A quick goal by Roisin at the start of the 2nd half helped settle the girls followed by a point from Jessica. Ciara had some lovely catches from the air and cleared them well keeping pressure off our super goalie Ellen and our great backs tonight of Alison & Imelda.  Claire Tobin & Lauren did well tonight keeping the ball out the wings and making Clon work very hard for every ball.  Clon did score a goal and a point which was then followed by a point from Jessica.  This was a very exciting second half with only 2 points seperating them with 7 minutes to go.  It was all to play for, but with the bringing on of our great subs  - Emma, Tara, Chloe & Cliona they managed to get the ball to Jessica to score another goal.  Ellen came out of goal and was replaced by Holly who did super as well and made a few good saves. Ellen was determined in her attempts to get some ball time and got the ball to Emma who got a super goal to finish off the game. Final score 4-2 to 1-2.. a difficult game to watch for one supporter who had granddaughters playing on either side, so she did the diplomatic thing and spent a half on either side of the pitch,always more exciting when playing against the cousins. Next game against St. Colums date to be decided.
