Barryroe 1-13 Dripsey 1-12

Barryroe Intermediate hurlers made the trip to Cloughduv on Monday night to take on Dripsey in the second round of the league. At the end of a highly competitive hour Barryroe emerged victorious against last year's beaten county finalists on a pitch that looked like it had seen a good few matches recently. Barryroe opened the first-half in commanding fashion to take a 0-5 to 0-1 lead after 15 minutes, with Tadhg Harrington, Jack Murphy, Johnny O'Donovan, Gearoid Whelton all getting on the score sheet. The concession of a few frees allowed Dripsey to narrow the gap to one point with five minutes to the break, before Barryroe added further scores from Mark Crowley, Kieran Griffin and Johhny O'Donovan to leave 0-9 to 0-6 at the short whistle.

Barryroe started the second-half with a great point from Brendan Coleman after a mazy 40 metre run through the heart of the Dripsey defence. Both sides traded points to leave it 0-12 to 0-10 before Brendan Coleman scored a great goal after good approach work by Daniel O'Driscoll and Mark Crowley. With Barryroe leading by three points, a further point from Tadhg Harrington left four points between the side before a Dripsey goal on the stroke of full-time saw Barryroe claim the spoils on the night by the narrowest of margins. Barryroe panel on the night: Tadhg Harrington, Jack Murphy, Johnny O'Donovan, Jack Cahalane, Gearoid Whelton, Mark Crowley, Kieran Griffin, Conor Madden, Brain Scannell, Eamonn McCarthy, Ger O'Leary, John Whelton, Brendan Coleman, Pa Moloney, Conor O'Regan, Dave O'Sullivan, Timmy Carroll, Daniel O'Driscoll, Jason Fleming, Michael Whelton, Anthony Fleming, Eoghan Sheehy.
