As the scoreline suggests, this was an open and free-flowing game of football which could easily have resulted in an Ibane win but for a late scoring burst from the hosts. Having gone in level at half-time 3-3 to 2-6 the home side turned the screw early in the second half hitting 2-3 without reply. The Ibane lads thundered back into the game and aided by a couple of goals from Ronan Fleming and Victor Lovell and late points from Dylan Harrington (having earlier been harshly adjudged to have over-carried when goaling) took the lead with the final whistle approaching. A strong finish from Gabriels however, including 2 goals in stoppage time, saw them take the points from this enjoyable hour of football. This was Ibane’s best performance thus far in the league and they can take great encouragement from their efforts on the night. Once again Cillian Whelton played well in goals with Conor Tyndall, Victor Lovell and Anthony Fleming amongst those who impressed further out the field.
