Under horrendous weather conditions in the first half, Barryroe went out to do battle with Tracton in this U16 County League game at Barryroe on Saturday. The opening score was a pointed free from Andrea Tobin. Ciara O’Sullivan followed this with a goal and a point from play. Great work by Eva Scallan-Dowd & Naomi Murphy in creating these scores. Tracton responded with 2 goals. Next Barryroe replied with a super goal from Jessica McCarthy. Then Tracton pointed from a free. Unfortunately, Barryroe were caught off guard when Tracton went on to score 2 soft goals and a point in quick succession. The deficit would have been greater only for the fantastic goalkeeping from Therese McCarthy. Half time scoreline Barryroe 2-2 to Tracton 4-2

In the second half, the visitors dominated and continued to build on their lead. But the girls were not going to give up and after a scramble for the ball, it was Jessica again who found the net. This was followed by two lovely points from Ciara. Tracton replied with a goal. Again, the Barryroe girls were not finished with Jessica scoring the final score of the match, a goal.
