Barryroe, 15:00PM

Sunday afternoon was meant to see Barryroe take on O’Donovan Rossa in their final league before championship takes place next Sunday. Unfortunately, O’Donovan Rossa arrived numerically depleted due to a senior game earlier in the day. The game went ahead with a more even distribution of players and it saw Barryroe win 1-12 to 2-1. Good early scores from Mark Crowley, Jack Cahalane, David O’Sullivan and a goal from Kieran Griffin saw Barryroe lead at the break 1-3 to 0-1.

The second-half saw Barryroe stretch their lead with points from David O’Sullivan (3) and Johnny O’Donovan (3) along with two points from Tadhg Harrington to close the scoring at 1-12 to 2-1. Whilst both sides would probably have liked a better situation to have prevailed on the day, the game nevertheless proved a useful workout for all concerned.

Barryroe will now take on Muintir Bhaire next Sunday evening @ 7.00pm in the first round of this year’s football championship.
