Weather conditions were ideal for this match. Inniscarra opened the first half with a point but Barryroe’s Jessica McCarthy replied by sending a great ball over the bar. The visitors replied with a goal & a point. Then Clodagh Moloney, our goalie for the day, looked for Roisin Dullea who sent the ball into the forwards. There was a scurry for the ball by Ciara Collins & Saphira Ruprecht but it was Jess who got the final touch and pointed. Grace Tobin was unlucky to hit the post from a free. Ciara O’Sullivan then pointed from a very awkward angle. Inniscarra closed the first half with a goal. Eva Scallan Dowd, Naomi Murphy & Maeve Whelton worked hard to defend the back line in this half. Score at the break was Barryroe 0-3 Inniscarra 2-2.

First score of the second half was a point by Inniscarra. Then Andrea Tobin caught a great ball in the air and found Roisin McCarthy who scored a lovely point. Inniscarra replied with a goal. Lauren Tobin & Aideen O’Riordan were clearing a lot of ball out of defence. Then Chloe Collins made herself available to set up a great ball for Ciara O’S who got the final point of the day.

The result was not a true reflection of the effort the girls put in and the camogie skills demonstrated. Barryroe were unlucky to be denied another few scores.
