Ballinascarthy, 19:00PM

Balinascarty   6-4  Barryroe 5-7

Bal level with last kick of 11 goal thriller.

Our first football league outing of the year produced a thrilling match in Bal today.

Played on the upper pitch, we were aided by a strong wind in the first half and though the home side had a couple of big lads, we went at them from the start. In under twelve you can only use one hop and one solo, which helps to stop a big player from domination the match. Michael O'Donovan,Con Dineen and John Sheehy had early points before Adam Mc Sweeney, got in on the act adding a goal and a point in quick succession.

Bal then had their only score of the half, a point before a Matt O'Donovan goaland points from Ryan O'Donovan and John Sheehy gave us a 2-6 to 01 lead at the break.

The home side blitzed us in the opening minutes of the srcond halg, adding 3-1 before John Sheehy chipped in with 1-1 to steady the ship. Bal had a goal, we came back with a goal , (I missed the scorer as it was breathless stuff) at 4-2 to 4-7 for Barryroe.Adam Sweeney had a goal for us and Bal brought the lead down to three points before with the last kick of the game the hope side levelled .

Our smaller lads tired a bit in the second half, but over all they were a joy to watch. Without the strength of hands to over do the hand passing, they moved the ball quickly with the foot. There are some players in this team with some serious football potential,

A great game.
