Best of Luck Ronnie & Patrick

26 April, 2022

This coming May Bank Holiday weekend 2 Barryroe parishioners are taking on the challenge of cycling from Malin Head in Donegal to Mizen Head in Cork in 4 days.  Ronnie Barry and her brother Pat will join 15 other members of Clonakilty Cycling Club as they take on the challenge of cycling the 624 km distance from Malin to Mizen.

The cycle is seeking to raise funds for the life-saving service that is the Irish Community Air Ambulance (ICAA).

The ICAA launched Ireland’s first charity funded Air Ambulance on the 30th July 2019. In its first full year of service, it was tasked on nearly 500 occasions. ICAA offer a vital service bringing advanced paramedics from the National Ambulance Service to the roadside, farm or home within minutes of an incident. Most critically the Air Ambulance can then transfer the casualty to the hospital that best suits their needs. This is what makes their service unique.

The service does not receive government funding and rely heavily on fundraising efforts.
