On the final day of 2023 a sizeable crowd consisting of 29 teams set off from the Creamery Cross in pursuit of the Timmy Sheehy Cup for 2023. In the final tally, the honours were shared, with new champions of Conrad Murphy, Mike Collins, Riley O'Donovan and Ollie Hunt, Paul Deasy, and Ronan Lucey. Both teams hitting 'Birdies Wall' in 25 shots.
Well done to all for taking part and well done to this year's organiser Mike Coleman and all his helpers. Thank you to Mary and the staff of O'Neill's Bar Butlerstown for the hospitality afterward.
Earlier in the day the young boys and girls of Barryroe set off from National School and headed for Páirc Uí Mhurchú to wield the camans in the underage poc fada. Joint winners in the boys section were James Coleman and Tomas Harrington whilst the joint winners in the girls were Amy Whelton, Megan O'Regan and Kate Collins. Thanks to all the mentors/parents for stewarding.
Proceeds collected on the day totalled €870 which will be donated to Marymount Hospice.
