Barryroe GAA Dinner Dance 2024

Barryroe GAA dinner dance took place on Friday, February 23rd in Fernhill House Hotel, Clonakilty. It was an opportunity for all members of the community to socialise and celebrate the victorious Junior A West Cork Champions for 2023. Barry Holland was the very able MC for the night and proceedings commenced with Chairperson Eoin McCarthy welcoming everyone including special guest, Noel O'Leary, Cork All-Ireland Football winner.
The victorious Junior A Footballers were recognized for their feats in the 2023 season. Each member of the championship-winning team was introduced by their Co-manager Gearoid Whelton and they were invited up to the stage to accept their medal. A special award was presented by Runaí Richard Murphy to current football selector Densy Whelton for outstanding and sterling service to Barryroe GAA. Formalities concluded with the 'Players Awards' with categories such as 'clutch moment of the year' and 'goal of the year' all hotly contested.
Over 160 people attended the function with the celebrations carrying on into the early hours.
