Barryroe recorded a narrow win over Kilmacabea in the latest round of the Dubliner Cheese Carbery Beara Division 1 Football League on Sunday last in Barryroe. After a cagey opening, both teams retired at the short whistle deadlocked on 0-04 apiece. David Murphy and Adam McSweeney were to the fore early in the second half and at the three-quarter mark, the home team led 0-08 to 0-06. A grandstand finish was set up when Kilmacbea leveled proceedings from the penalty spot with the clock ticking into added time but Ryan O'Donovan with a monster point in the next play of the game ensured the home team picked up the valuable two league points on offer.
