Clonakilty, 19:15PM

Clonakilty 10-03 Barryroe 3-00.  .

It started off as a lovely bright but cool spring day in Clon when our u14 girls took to the pitch. Both sides settling into their stride quickly. Eimear Sheehy got a lovely goal early on but it wasn't long before Clon found the net as well which was followed by another and a point before Jessica had a nice run of play and scored 2 goals with the help from Roisin Tara Ellen and Ciara. But Clon were fast and came back to score another goalbefore the heavens opened and hailstone almost the same size as the sliothar rained down on us. Lucky for everyone it was half time and we had shelter for 10 minutes. Only 2 points behind at half time. The cold and rain really hit the girls when the 2nd half resumed. The girls tried hard but some of them had already played sciath na scoil today and football matchover the weekend  you could tell their spirit was willing but their legs were getting tired. Clon also had the wind to their advantage. A few quick scores saw them gain momementum and they found it easier to score. With more rain and hail threatening we called a halt before girls got hypothermia and everyone was glad to get back to some warmth. What started as a spring day definitely finished as a bitterly cold wet winters day.  As we left for home the warning light for frost/ice came on in our car. Next game against Grenagh. Date and time to follow.
