Barryroe Under 12 Hurlers lost to St Colms in the final of the shield competition played in Dunmanway. A physically strong Colm’s team got off to a strong start and led by seven points at half time. The Barryroe lads put in a strong performance in the second period and with five minutes remaining there was only a point between the sides. Colm’s scored a goal and a point to run out winners on a score line of 2-11 to 3-03.
