Castlehaven qualified for the final of the Under 14 A Football League with an extra time victory over Ibane.
Castlehaven started well and led by 2-01 to 0-02 after fifteen minutes. Ibane then dominated and the half time score was Ibane 0-06 Castlehaven 2-02. Both teams played good football in the second period and Ibane led by four points with a few minutes remaining. The haven boys levelled the match with a goal and a point with the result at full time Ibane 2-10 Castlehaven 3-07. The sides were still level at half time in extra time but Castlehaven had the legs in the end to claim victory. For some of the Ibane boys it was their fourth match in five days which proved a step too far. In the circumstances it was a great performance which can hopefully be repeated in the upcoming championship.
