AGM Report 2025
30 November, 2025
The Club AGM occurred last Friday night, the 28th of November, in Butlerstown Community Centre. The Chairperson, Eoin McCarthy, welcomed all present and thanked them for their attendance.
The minutes of the 2024 AGM were taken as read, followed by the Secretary’s report for 2025. Richard Murphy, our secretary, was complimented by the chairperson for presenting such a detailed report. The report comprehensively reviewed all playing action for the 2025 season, and much discussion revolved around the performances of the adult hurling and football squads over the 2025 season. The Report also covered the ground maintenance and development over 2025. Ongoing and future development works were outlined by John Fleming, and much discussion revolved around the ongoing challenge of maintaining the various elements of the facility.
The PRO Report was briefly reviewed by John O'Leary, where the main item of note was the performance [reach] of the website and social media channels over the 2025 season.
This was followed by the treasurer’s report, which was presented by our treasurer, Michael Coleman. The report outlined the financial situation of the club for the year ending 31st October 2025. The decline of club lotto sales during the Covid-19 pandemic is still to be recovered, although sales saw a good increase in 2025. Michael encouraged all supporters of the Club to regularly purchase tickets. Michael thanked all those who purchased horses for the annual race night, which occurred in the Grange Tavern the previous weekend. Coupled with the generosity of our sponsors, this fundraiser provided a much-needed boost to the club's finances. The Rebel Bounty draw has now evolved as a key source of alternative club funding during the calendar year. Similar to the race night, 2025 saw record sales, and Michael thanked all club members for their subscriptions. The increased sales resulted in four winners during the year. We hope our luck will improve further in 2026.
The final item on the financial agenda was the setting of membership fees for 2026, and they were confirmed as follows;
- Full member [playing] €100
- Full member [playing, student] €50
- Full member [non-playing] €50
- Social member €40
- Youth member €50
It was reconfirmed that the ability to renew membership is available online, and all previous players should be encouraged to continue to support the club.
The Chairperson then said a few words and thanked his fellow officers and committee members for all their efforts during the year. The Chairperson also thanked the various teams and their mentors for their efforts. He expressed the hope that our current crop of players at the adult level will continue on the upward curve. Away from the playing fields, Eoin remarked on the passing of many of our loyal supporters during 2025, and a special tribute was paid to both John Sexton (PRO 2001-2009) and Donal Holland (Asst. Secretary at the time of passing, but also involved in multiple teams).
The final act of the night was the election of officers, where major changes were announced at the top table, with the outgoing Treasurer, Secretary and PRO stepping back to assistant roles. Eoin McCarthy welcomed new officers, Liam Murphy, Michael Dineen and Steve Madden and wished them the very best in their new positions.
