Barryroe warmed up for next week's under 12 league final, by entertaining Balinascarthy in a friendly under lights on Friday.
The game proved a bit of a wakeup call for the locals, as the bigger Bal team dominated the first half, to lead by 1-06 to 2-00, the Barryroe goals coming from Ryan O'Donovan and Adam McSweeney.
We upped our game in the second half and held the visitors scoreless for some 15 minutes, but a couple of late goals took some of the gloss off the score line.
Plenty work to be done before we face Newcestown on Sunday weel.
