LEAGUE FINAL in NEWCESTOWN (NOTE TIME), 11:15AM

Newcestown, at home, were always going to be raging hot favorites for this game. Most of our team is under-age again next year and it showed in the second half as we tired visably.

The home side had the first point, before three in a row from Cathal Sheehy, Ryan O'Donovan and Adam Mc Sweeney had us in front. Newcestown then got a goal before two further points from Cathal Sheehy put us back in front. The same player then blocked a certain goal, before keeper Florence Witcherly produced one of his many fine saves to again deny the home side.

In the last ten minutes of the first half however, the home side took over and added 2-02 to leave them 3-03 to 0-05 ahead at the break.

Any hope of a come back was dashed as Newcestown added two quick goals just after the break and our race was run. We battled away with Ryan O'Donovan adding our goal in the 16th minute, but the older and stronger Newcestown lads pulled away to take the title.

Next year, most of our team will be on the age and we will be expecting a lot from them.

The ball evades everyone.

Pressure on the Newcestown goal.

All eyes on the dropping ball.

Our Under 12 hurlers who have had a great season.
