Barryroe 2-08  D.O'Mathuna's 2-06

Barryroe entertained O'Mathunas on Friday night in the final league game of the season.  After an exciting encounter Barryroe emerged victorious in very windy conditions.  Barryroe played with that strong wind in the first-half, but could make little headway on the scoreboard. Early exchanges of points saw Barryroe lead 0-02 to 0-01 with Mark Crowley and John O'Donovan the scorers. A Mathunas goal gave them the lead, before a cracking goal from Mark Crowley saw  Barryroe jump ahead and a further point from Ciaran Hurley saw the teams level 1-03 apiece at the break. With no let up in the windy conditions, which Barryroe were now playing into for the second-half, matters did not look great as Mathuna's added a goal and a point within a minute of the re-start. It was then that Barryroe dug deep and led by Dave O'Sullivan who covered every inch of the pitch added four points in a row from Mark Crowley, Kieran Griffin, Ciaran Hurley and Dave O'Sullivan. These scores saw Barryroe trail by a point with ten minutes to go before a well worked goal give Barryroe the lead 2-07 to 2-05, both sides exchanged points with Mark Crowley kicking Barryroe's last score of the night.
