Barryroe, 19:00PM

Maybe it was the biting cold, or the delayed start, as we waited for a couple of lost Dripsey players, but this game took a while to get going. The visitors had a point almost from the throw-in, but Mike Brien levelled soon after. Denis Harrington put us ahead, but Dripsey came back with a point and were then awarded a penalty, which they converted.

Adrian Fleming then set up Mike Brien and the Lehinagh man duly buried it to level the scores. Dripsey had a point, Mike had another, Dripsey added a fourth, but Dennis Harrington struck just on the short whistle to leave matters level 1-4 each at the break. The second half however would prove to be all Barryroe as we faced the dressing room goal with a wind at our backs.

Dripsey had the first score of the second half before Tadgh Harrington opened our account with a free and when Kieran Hurley was fouled, Jonnie O'Donovan pointed. Five minutes later he added another free, a fine point from play and another free, before Tadgh Harrington's huge effort left us 1-10 to 1-05 in front. Sub Clive Cahalane set up Jonnie O'Donovan for another fine score, before Dripsey had their second point of the half.

Clive then added two points of his own, before a harsh red card left us with fourteen men for the last eight minutes although leading 1-13 to 1-06. Both sides added two points apiece with Jonnie and Dennis Harrington scoring for us.

Mike Brien had a great first half, Jonnie O'Donovan, Timmy Carroll, Clive Cahalane had fine second halfs, but overall my man of the Match was Jason Fleming. (Let the arguments begin).
