Ibane Gaels (2) had a brilliant win over St. Fachtnas tonight in the first round of the U14B championship in Clonakilty. These lads are the younger half of the U14 panel, but they coped really well against a older and more physical St Fachtnas side. There was nothing between the two teams and it was level at the halftime whistle , Ibane 2-03 St Fachtnas 1-06. They started the second half brightly getting the first 3 points but St Fachtnas kept the scoreboard ticking over and it was all square with 5 minutes remaining but Ibane kept going and Michael Walsh got on the end of a long ball and finished smartly with a great goal.
Well done to all, hard work pays off and these lads have trained hard all through the winter, keep it up.
