Ibane bowed out of the U16 hurling championship when they were beaten by Clonakilty in Ahiohill in this their 2nd game in the round robin system, between Clon ,Kilmeen and Ibane. Ibane took the game to Clon in the 1st half but failed to get the scores on the board to take advantage of the strong wind and instead retired level at half time 0-05 each. The physically stronger Clon were allways going to be in control in the 2nd half and so it proved to be however Ibane never gave up and fought till to the end.
While defeat was their lot, this was a big step up for these lads playing A grade as 2 years ago they were playing C grade.
