Ibane Gaels hosted Carbery Rangers in the second round of their U16 football league campaign at Timoleague on Monday March 18th. In excellent playing conditions Rangers started brightly and led by 0-3 to 0-1 after 10 minutes. Aided by a breeze they increased this lead and the half time score was 0-8 to 0-3 in favour of the Rosscarbery side.
Ibane charged into the game in the second half and a resolute defence and excellent goalkeeping kept the Rangers attack at bay while Ibane tacked on some nice points. The lead was reduced to two points with five minutes to play but two late scores from Rangers gave a final score of 0-12 to 0-8.
