Ibane Gaels 3-06 Ahan Gaels 2-10

A young Ibane team had to give way to Ahan in the meeting of the Gaels in the Minor A Hurling semi-final played in Bandon

Ahan are the defending county champions and had the advantage of a strong wind and had the Ibane Defence where Conor Lehane was outstanding under a lot of pressure throughout with puck outs landing 25 metres from goal still at half time the score read 1-06 to 1-02 to Ahan the Ibane goal coming from a Micheal Whelton Free. On the resumption with the wind having eased a little Ibane began to eat in to the Ahan lead helped by Sean Maxwell points and a Liam Colberth goal and matters were level after 45 minutes however Ahan scored a goal out of nowhere and this seemed to shake Ibane for a while as Ahan streched their lead but the lads never gave up and when Micheal hit another piledriver from a free to the net the margin was down to 2 goalie Dylan Harrington landed a monster free to leave the minimum between the sides and the last minutes were played out with Ibane attcking but not being able to get the equalizing score to leave Ahan winners 2-10 to 3-06. Ahan were just about the better team on the night but this team has come on big time in the year past helped by Danny Murphy's coaching and should be well able for a crack at this championship next year
