Report for Carbery U16 B Camogie Championship St. Colums v Barryroe Sunday 31st July @ 4:45pm in Kealkill

Result: St. Colums 0-2 Barryroe 7-12

The Barryroe girls settled quickly into the game which resulted in a great solo run from Grace Tobin who sent a beautiful shot over the bar. Next Ciara O’Sullivan sent over a lovely free. Chloe Collins was next to put her name on the score sheet, rattling the back of the net with great assistance from an impressive Roisin McCarthy and Roisin Dullea. Andrea Tobin added further scores, pointing twice from frees and Grace pointed again. Ciara O’S closed the first half with a goal and a point. Therese McCarthy made some super saves in this half and Aideen O’Riordan set up some attacks by making good clearances from defense. Barryroe lead 2-6 to St. Colums 0-0 at half time.

In the second half, it was a determined Jessica McCarthy who opened the scoring with a goal. Then from a great pass from Ciara Collins, Ciara O’S raised another green flag. There were further scores from Andrea, a point, Ciara O’S a goal & a point and Jess who pointed from play. Colums replied with a point. Some great blocking by Lauren Tobin in this half. Jess & Ciara O’S each sent the ball between the posts. Colums responded with a point. Clodagh Moloney & Sarah O’Regan did trojan work clearing ball from the backline. Chloe & Jess scored again, a point and a goal. The final score came from Andrea, a great goal from the 45 metre line.
