Barryroe entertained neighbours Argideen Rangers on Friday night last in the semi-final of the Junior C championship. In very wet conditions, Barryroe emerged victorious with a comprehensive win against an Argideen Rangers side that were reduced to 14 men after 15 minutes following a straight red. Both sides exchanged early points, with the Barryroe scores coming from Ted Kearney and Jerome O’Brien. Barryroe stretched the lead with points from Killian Lawton, Denis Harrington, Kevin Donovan and Sean Holland to take 0-06 to 0-02 lead before the sending off. At this stage Barryroe were well in control and matters improved further as a long range shot from Sean Holland found the net  to leave the scores at the break 1-08 to 0-05. Immediately on the resumption Barryroe added further scores from Patrick Fleming, Sean Holland (1-01), Jerome O’Brien, Clive Cahalane, Matty O’Regan, and Denis Harrington to stretch the lead further. With Donal O’Leary playing as the sweeper due to the extra man, the backs continued to excel with Peter Keohane and Jerry Crowley dealing with any danger to goalie Billy O’Donovan.  The half-back line of Shane O’Driscoll, Ger Coleman and Conor O’Regan were composed all through in the wet conditons.  As the rain continued to pour down , the game finished on a scoreline of  Barryroe 3-15, Argideen Rangers 0-09.
