Great Wild Atlantic Marathon Walk

The sixth Great Wild Atlantic Marathon Walks take place on next Sat Aug 13th. This is a joint initiative between Courtmacsherry Lifeboat and Barryroe GAA with the entire proceeds going to the RNLI Irish Lifeboats. Registration which costs €20 can be done on line at Eventmaster.ie and search Walking/Courtmacsherry. Also on the day, registration will take place from 7am to 10am in Courtmacsherry Community Centre or in South Ring Pier from 11.30am to 12.30. Walkers can start at any time from 7.30am and do the various routes of 5K, 10K, 15K, a half Marathon of 13.1 miles or a full Marathon of 26.2 miles.
An Taoiseach Micheal Martin will lead the way at the Official Start time of 9.30am from Courtmacsherry Community Centre. Thank you for the great support over the past 5 years when over €36,000 has been raised for the RNLI. The forecast looks good for Sat and the spectacular beauty of the Seven Heads peninsula from Courtmacsherry Bay to Inchydoney Bay will be at its best.
