A reminder that the seventh Great Wild Atlantic Marathon Walks take place on Saturday August 12th on the spectacular route over the Seven Heads Peninsula from Courtmacsherry Bay to Inchydoney Bay.

This is a joint initiative between Courtmacsherry Lifeboat Station and Barryroe GAA with the entire proceeds going to the RNLI Irish Lifeboats. Registration which costs from €20 can be done on line at Eventmaster.ie and search Walking/Courtmacsherry. Also on the day, registration will take place from 7am to 10am in Courtmacsherry Community Centre or in South Ring Pier from 11.30am to 12.30.

An Tánaiste Micheal Martin will lead the way at the Official Group Start time of 9am from Courtmacsherry Community Centre and this will be his seventh year taking part in the full marathon. Walkers can do the various routes of 5K, 10K, 15K, a half Marathon of 13.1 miles or a full Marathon of 26.2 miles.

Thank you for the great support over the past 6 years when €45,927 has been raised for the RNLI. Our new blue 2023 Walk Tee shirts will be on sale all day on Saturday. Thank you to all our great sponsors who ensure that every euro raised goes to our Lifeboats.
