It was great to have the Cork GAA Legend Jimmy Barry Murphy launch our Great Wild Atlantic Marathon Walks that take place this year on Sunday 11th August. Proud we were to have our local dual Cork Minor Hurler and Footballer this year Luke Murphy support us as well. Luke’s father Danny, himself an All Ireland Senior Hurling medal winner under Jimmy’s management in 1999 and his wife Cora, have been a great supporters of our walks each year. Jimmy was delighted to meet up with his Cork Minor Hurler playing partner of 1971, Dan O Dwyer (former Lifeboat Coxswain), when they won the All Ireland Hurling final together.
