Barryroe kicked off the 2019 football season in encouraging style by defeating neighbours Argideen Rangers on a score of 4-09 to 1-10 at a cold and blustery Páirc Uí Mhurchú on Sunday afternoon. A well taken goal by debutant Cathal Sheehy in the 20th minute ensured the hosts retired at the short whistle 1-08 to 0-07 in front. Two quick fire goals in as many minutes on the resumption from Dan O'Driscoll and Liam Colbert fired Barryroe into a position which they never looked like relinquishing running out deserved winners on a score of 4-09 to 1-10. Barryroe will look to build on this performance as they continue their league campaign next Sunday as they travel to Bandon, throw-in 3pm.
