Barryroe 3-05 Argideen Rangers 0-07

Barryroe edged out neighbours Timoleague in this well contested U12 hurling league game played in Barryroe on Tuesday evening. The boys in blue started well and led by 1-2 to 0-0 early in the first half. However, from there to the finish this game was very even with the Barryroe lads struggling to shake off the tenacious tackling of the boys in maroon and white whose hooking and blocking made scoring opportunities hard to come by for the home side. Changing ends with the scoreboard reading 1-4 to 0-2, Barryroe had to fight hard in the second half to maintain their advantage but did so whilst playing some lovely first time hurling at times. Padraig Whelton, Adam Sexton and Kelan Casey had particularly good games for the winners. Team: Aaron Fleming, Dylan Kelly, Michael O’Donovan, Sean Flynn (capt.), Mike Collins, Cillian Coakley, Ben O’Dwyer, Luke Murphy (2-4, 0-1 free), Travis O’Sullivan, Jamie Collins (0-1 free), Adam Sexton, Se Gannon, Ian Whelton. Subs: Padraig Whelton, Kelan Casey (1-0), Lorcan Hayes, David James Hitz, Conrad Murphy.
