Sunday 18 Aug 2019Ibane Minor Hurling - Championship

Ahiohill, 19:00PM

Ibane Gaels 3-12 Sam Maguires 0-15

The Ibane Gaels minor hurlers were in championship action last Sunday evening when they travelled to Ahiohill to take on Sam Maguires. Opting to play with the strong breeze in the first half Ibane got off to a great start with an early goal from Adam Mcsweeney and the same player slotted over 2 more frees. Sam Maguires stayed in touch with some well taken frees from Sean Daly and Ibane led 2-06 to 0-07 at half time. Sam Maguires came out strongly in the second half aided by the wind and came within a point of Ibane. In the closing ten minutes Ibane pulled away with some great scores from Sean Walsh, Andrew Guiveann and Adam Mcsweeney. James Moloney, Sean Henchion and Cathal Sheehy were solid at the back while Darragh Holland and Matthew O Donovan worked hard in midfield. Up front Adam Mcsweeney, Sean & Fergal Walsh and the introduction of Lorcan O' Leary, Jack Lawton and Ryan O' Donovan helped Ibane to a good win.
