The Ibane U16 hurlers bowed out of the county series at the semi-final stage after a cracking game with St. Catherines in Ballygarvan last week. St.Catherine’s got off to a great start and had 2-02 on the board before Ibane registered their first score. Slowly Ibane came into the game and goals from Philip Flynn, Sean Walsh and well taken frees from Fergal Walsh saw them going in at half time trailing 2-06 to 3-10. A cracking second half started with some great scores from both teams. Ibane came within a point of the Conna side but the East Cork side pulled away to win 4-17 to 4-10.
