Anne Sexton RIP

Barryroe GAA members were saddened to learn of the passing of Anne Sexton, Lislevane. Anne was a respected and popular figure with former players as well as wife to our late Chairman and President, Vincent. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Sexton (Lislevane) on 1st March 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family at Marymount Hospice, Cork. Anne, wife of the late John Vincent, much loved mother of Michéal, James and Sheila (Tyndall). Predeceased by her sisters Sheila (Moynihan), Kay (Feeney) and Mary, brother Micháel, brothers-in-law Johnny, Brendan and Fr. Frank (OSA), sister-in-law Anna Moloney and Molly O'Donovan.

Sadly missed by her family, daughters-in-law Bernadette and Helen, grandchildren, Matthew, Gerard, Amy, Aideen, Meabhdh, Claire, Orla and Conor, great-grandchildren, Maggie, Keegan, Ellie and Conrad, nieces and nephews, kind neighbours and large circle of friends.

Reposing at Holland's Funeral Home, Barryroe (P72 FY88) on Tuesday, 3rd March, from 6.00pm to 8.30pm followed by prayers at 8.30pm. Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Wednesday, 4th March, at Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, Barryroe. This can be viewed on https://barryroe.ie/. Burial afterwards in Lislevane Cemetery.

The Sexton family wish to acknowledge the excellent care and support of the nurses and staff at Marymount Hospice, the GP’s and staff at Clonakilty Waterfront Clinic, HSE nurses, the home helps and her home carers.
