Well Done To Our U11's
18 May, 2026
Massive congratulations to our U11 lads who had an absolute cracker of a day yesterday up at the Michael Quirke Cup hosted by Douglas GAA!
The boys were pitted against the Douglas, Ballincollig and Nemo in the group stage, they stood their ground and put down a serious marker. Every single one of them played out of their skins. It was a proper, complete team performance from start to finish, with every player stepping up exactly when needed.
We had it all on display—brilliant blocking, lads soaring into the sky for high catches, lovely scores from play, deadly frees, and some heroic saves in the back to keep us in the driving seat. We came out of the group stage undefeated and paired against Sarfields in the semi-final.
Every single game was an absolute battle, and the lads fell just short by the narrowest of margins in a cracking semi-final against Sarsfields. They can keep their heads held high—the hunger and heart they showed was top class.
This tournament will stand to them massively as they drive on with the West Cork Grading Leagues in both football and hurling. There’s a serious future in this group!
Huge thanks to Ger Coleman of Douglas GAA for extending the invite to his native Barryroe, and fair play to everyone at Douglas for running a top-tier blitz.
Maith sibh, a bhuachaillí. Up Barryroe!
