Barryroe missed out on a Premier Junior Hurling Championship semi-final place after falling to a 1-21 to 1-18 defeat against Mayfield in Belgooly on Saturday last. Mayfield made the stronger start and led 1-10 to 0-10 at the break before stretching their advantage to ten points during the second half. A late goal gave Barryroe hope, but Mayfield held on for a deserved three-point victory. Barryroe will now face Cloughduv in the quarter-finals.
