Ballyanly, (Back Door Game Extra Time if necessary)., 15:30PM

Barryroe face another back door game, (probably next weekend), after just coming up short against Milford,  on Sunday. The crowd in Inniscarra was small but the weather was good as the ball was throw-in.

The North Cork side are a big strong team and we struggled early on against them. Three minutes in, we had a lucky escape, when Jer O'Leary made a vital interception and within  a minute, we took the lead as John O'Donovan pointed a free won by Mike O'Brien.

Milford responder with a goal and a point, but the scores were level on ten minutes, when Mike O'Brien set up Kieran Hurley for a fine goal.

Milford had the next four points, as Barryroe conceded some soft frees. Tadgh Harrington pointed a long range free and John O'Donovan cancelled another Milford point, but twenty minutes in, Milford had their second goal to lead 2-6 to 1-3. A Dave O'Sullivan point and a Tadgh Harrington 65, left us four adrift at the whistle.

We started well in the second half, as in the very first minute, Kieran Hurley broke through the middle and when the ball broke loose, Mike O'Brien was on hand to lash it to the net. A John O'Donovan point levelled the game. We were still giving away soft frees however, and over the next seven minutes, we conceded five points without reply. Dave O'Sullivan and Kieran Griffin sandwiched a Milford point and we then hit a purple patch, with a Kieran Griffin point, a Mike O' Brien goal and a Tadgh Harrington free, to edge ahead by 3-10 to 2-12. Milford went back in front with two quick points, before a John O'Donovan point levelled matters once again.

Alas Milford finished more strongly and added two final points to advance on a scoreline of 3-11 to 2-16.

Barryroe conceded too many soft frees today and it cost us dearly.
