Bishopstown (Back door game), 12:30PM

On a beautiful hot saturday morning our u18's took on Bishopstown in Bishopstown. Bishopstown took the opening 2 scores. Rachel Sheehy opened Barryroe's score with a point from a free. Claire Sexton solo was saved by the goalie and 45 pointed by Rachel Sheehy.  Followed by an outstanding point from midfield by Claire Sexton. Bishopstown fought on and capitalised with 1-2 before Aisling Sheehy and Hettie O'Brien defending well and passed to Claire who scored a further point. Final score of first half scored by Rachel Sheehy. Half time score Barryroe 0-5 v Bishopstown 1-4.

The second half clouded over much to the relief of both teams, Rachel Sheehy scored 2points from frees, before Claire Sexton brought us level with a fantastic goal.Meabhdh Sexton, Niamh Whelton and Mari-Claire Whelton stood solid in the back line and refused to let Bishopstown through they had to point all further scores. Sally Smith and Rebecca McCarthy kept the ball moving forward and Rebecca pointed an excellent ball from out field. Bishopstown kept the pressure on and continued scoring point after point. Niamh O'Sullivan, Marie Dineen, Ciara Whelton, Caroline McCarthy, Aine Whelton and Lauren Deasy were denied scores from Bishopstown's defenses.    Very exciting play was displayed throughout the second half from both teams and Hannah Whelton scored Barryroe's last point but it was not to be Barryroe's day Bishopstown finished winners on scoreline. Barryroe 1-9 v Bishopstown 1-12.
