Result: Erin’s Own 1-2 Barryroe 4-6
The opening score was an Erin’s Own point, however, Barryroe responded when Grace Tobin sent a great delivery into the Erin’s Own square resulting in Megan Murphy scoring a fine goal. Next Niamh Whelton made a super clearance which was well read by Eva Scallan Dowd who set up Clodagh Moloney to rattle the back of the net. Andrea Tobin was now dominant in midfield, setting up chances for the Barryroe forwards. Then Barryroe pressed on with Aoife pointing twice. Therese McCarthy in goal and a resilient full back line of Maeve Whelton and Shannon Chapman refused to yield to the Erin’s Own attach leaving the half time score Erin’s Own 0-1 Barryroe 2-2.
Barryroe increased their lead with further points from Niamh and Aoife. Erin’s Own replied with a goal. Next Katie McCarthy & Aideen O’Riordan combined well to set up Ciara O’Sullivan who sent the ball to the back of the net. Aoife was on the mark again with another point, followed by another lovely point from Ciara. Then Orla Deasy scored a goal, ably assisted by Chloe Collins. A consolation point from our opponents was the last score before the final whistle.
