Barryroe GAA

Ballinascarthy, 19:00PM

U12s were playing Balllnscarthy on Friday night.  In what was a very evenly matched game.   The first half saw Barryroe with a lot of the play but struggling to find the net. The opening score came after 15 minutes when Jessica scored a super point from a great pass from Roisin,  this settled the girls and they got stuck in.  With super play from Ashling, Roisin & Holly they were very unlucky not to score a goal.  Eimear & Meabh also were very unlucky not to find the net as it wide on either side of the goal
Ciara & Jessica worked well together in midfield and Jessica scored another point, this was followed shortly after by another point from a free. Claire Dullea had a quiet first half as goalie but was moved to the fowards for the second half and played great.  Just before half time Roisin found the target and scored a  point.  Our backs may have had an quiet first half but that all changed in the second half.  Ballinscarthy came out and were determined to get a score and they were rewarded with a goal.  the pressure was on for the last 10 minutes to keep them from scoring again with great play from our back line of Imelda, Ava, Claire Tobin, Aine & Lauren who really made a great effort to clear some dangerous ball.    Our subs - Chloe & Emma came on in the second half and played great.  Finally a free which was taken excellently by Jessica went over the bar. on a night that saw no goals scored,  it was still a very exciting and well fought game between two evenly matched teams. Final score 0-5 - 1-0  to Barryroe. 

Next match Wednesday at home to Enniskeane.
