Barryroe, 16:00PM

Middletown were treating this game seriously, they had a 9 a.m. training session the next morning, before facing the long journry home.

This is an evolving Barryroe team, with the introduction of younger players like Sally Smith, Rebecca McCarthy and Maebhdh Sexton, (now operating in the back line), adding much needed pace  to the team, while the returning Noreen O'Driscoll and Mary Sheehy add a bit of experience. Indeed it was Mary who got our goal as we turned around at half time a point behind at 1-06 to 0-09.

Barryroe had the wind in the second half and made full use of it. A goal and a point by Rachel Sheehy and a Síle Burns point pushed us 4 ahead and we had gone six ahead, after a Clair Sexton goal, before a Middletown goal brought the difference to three at 3-09 to 1-12.

That was as good as it got for the visitors however, as points from Clair Sexton, Sile Burns, Jennifer Curry, (playing for Barryroe for the last 10 minutes) and Ciara Whelton sealed matters.

A decent display from the Blues, with Sile Burns in top form and players like Jennifer White and Debra O'Leary starting to make their present felt.

The game also featured a "cameo" performance from Cora Keohane, could this be the great comeback ?

Groundwork.

Breaking clear.

Stop talking Cora.

That's better.

That style look familiar.

Debra gets stuck in.

Stalemate.

Sile scores.

Back in the Blue.

Strictly come Dancing, Hurling.

"Cora's on who is next ?"

Both teams pose for a picture.
