Bandon, 19:00PM

Ibane Gaels 2-16 Newcestown 0-12
Ibane upped the ante in the 2nd half of this Minor A hurling Championship semi-final played in Bandon to book their place in the final. At half time the score read 0-08 to 0-06 in favour of Newcestown who were a lot more economical in their shooting aided as well by Ibane's indiscipline which resulted in 5 points from frees. Newcestown stretched their lead on the resumption however Ted Kearney points kept Ibane in touch and Matthew Lawton was on hand to strike home a goal after a ball broke in the square to give Ibane the lead. Things turned Ibane's way when Newcestown were reduced to 14 men after a 2nd yellow card offence and Ibane really pushed on all over the pitch and were rewarded when Micheal Whelton scored a good poachers goal after a mistake by the keeper. Ibane were well on top now and the points started to flow over as Ibane put the game beyond Newcestown's reach with the final score resulting in  an Ibane win 2-16 to 0-12.
