Report for U16 Camogie County League game Tuesday 25 August @ 7pm in Brinny

Result: Valley Rovers 5-3 Barryroe 4-4

This game had almost everything. It had skill, speed, intensity, excitement and a

dramatic finish.

Megan Murphy opened the first half with a very well taken goal. Valleys responded by

pointing twice. Kate Whelton then sent over a fabulous point set up by a great pass from

Ciara O’Sullivan. Next Roisin Dullea & Ciara were on target with two great points.

Valleys then pointed from a free. Roisin then scored a super goal & point which were

well set up by Kate. Valleys completed the scoring in this half with two goals.

Half time score; Valley Rovers 2-3 to Barryroe 2-4

 

Valleys opened the second half with a goal. Ciara replied with a super goal after a

scramble for the ball. Valleys responded with a goal. But again Barryroe replied this

time, Grace Tobin rattling the back of the net. Megan was unlucky not to score again as

the ball hit the post. In the dying milliseconds, we are one point up but Valleys put an

end to that by scoring a goal.

 

The Barryroe girls put in a powerful team performance despite being narrowly beaten.

The next scheduled U16 game is the Carbery League (Round Robin) Competition at

home to Clonakilty Wednesday 02 September.
